Wootton Bassett

Wootton Bassett or Royal Wootton Bassett it is located just a couple of miles away from the M4, it has a lovely high street. It regularly hosts a market in the high street however a lot of the shops are well worth a visit the staff are always friendly and enthusiastic to help. You cannot help but notice the 17th Century Town Hall, which is built on 15 pillars.

Wootton Bassett’s Jubilee Lake is a great place to visit, first off you park your car in the car park and then walk down through a wooded area, there is a small children’s park, picnic area Nature Reserve, when you stand on one of the hills and look down it is amazing the size of the fish in the lake.

Wootton Bassett also has a very large golf course as well, set in two hundred and forty Acres of rolling Wiltshire countryside.

You also have Lydiard House and Park, which has a very large lake, manor house ancestral home of the Viscounts Bolingbroke, the council, has recently opened up the walled garden. The park also hosts many events during the summer months.
